More than 200 candidates are running for state and federal offices.

Democratic candidate for governor Les Gara recently campaigned in Juneau. The candidate sat down to talk about why he’s running, the state’s finances and how he thinks the new ranked choice voting system will play out. 

Dunleavy said the suspension would help Alaskans affected by rising fuel prices and inflation. 

Gov. Dunleavy’s spokesman Jeff Turner said the governor doesn’t have a position about what the new Alaska campaign contribution limit should be and will not be introducing a bill to set one.

Cook said she’ll continue teaching through the end of the school year before transitioning to campaigning.
