Juneau teams kickoff high school football playoffs this weekend
The Thunder Mountain Falcons host the Homer Mariners tonight (Friday) at 7 p.m., while the Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears play the Service Cougars in Anchorage tomorrow (Saturday) at 2 p.m.
Amalga Harbor Road closure moved up
Instead of being closed next Monday, Amalga Harbor Road will be closed Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. while DOT installs two prefabricated bridges over sections of Peterson Creek.

Juneau voters pass sales tax extension, bond measure too close to call
Juneau voters on Tuesday agreed to an extension of the city’s temporary one-percent sales tax, ensuring at least $34-million in capital projects will be funded borough-wide through 2018. But a $25-million bond proposition to fund another package of projects is still in doubt.
