Public can now comment on Juneau annexation petition
The public can comment on the City and Borough of Juneau’s petition to annex roughly 2,000 square miles of largely undeveloped land south of the current municipal boundary through June 28th.
Community meeting over Kodiak slayings to be held tonight
The Coast Guard has called a community meeting tonight (Monday) in Kodiak to discuss last week’s double homicide at the base’s communications station. Law enforcement officials remain tight-lipped about the murders of 41-year-old James Hopkins and 51-year-old Richard Belisle, who were shot to death inside a building at the “ComSta” complex.
Regular session ends, Parnell calls special session
The Legislature made it to the end of its regular 90 day session just after midnight this morning (Monday) – passing and sending to the governor several dozen bills over the final two days. However, the issues seen as critical at the start of the session, turned out to be footnotes at the end.
