Glacial Outburst Flooding

Although city officials say they expect the temporary levee to hold back glacial outburst floodwaters, they don’t want people to test it with their lives.

Residents learned about FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program and picked up free sandbags and weather alert radios at a community meeting Saturday.

The website is intended to help residents understand and plan for the floods.
