2010 Lunar Eclipse

KTOO Radio News

About 200 Juneau residents watched Monday’s eclipse of the moon from the shores of Mendenhall Lake at Skaters Cabin. KTOO’s Skip Gray was among them. Many others were out on the frozen lake. Across the city and borough, people were watching the solstice eclipse — grateful for the clear cold weather and unusually thin cloud cover. Gray shot this photo just a few minutes past the total eclipse. According to NASA, the solstice and lunar eclipse will not coincide again until 2094.
