Man wielding metal prybar assaults 21-year-old in Lemon Creek

A 35-year-old was arrested Sunday night for using a metal prybar to assault a man walking in Lemon Creek, according to Juneau Police Sgt. Chris Gifford.

According to Juneau police news release, William Robert Nakamura approached the 21-year-old victim and a 25-year-old woman about 10:20 p.m. Sunday while they were walking along Glacier Highway, near Tonsgard Court.

Nakamura, who did not know the victim of the woman prior to the incident, began to fight the victim, according to the report.

The victim was transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital, and treated for minor injuries.

Nakamura was arrested on one count of third-degree assault with a weapon, a class C felony. He is in custody at Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
