Neva Egan has died at the age of 96. She was the state’s very first First Lady.
She passed away Wednesday night (Jan. 19, 2011) at the Juneau Pioneer Home.
The wife of the late Governor Bill Egan, she was the mother of Juneau State Senator Dennis Egan.

- Oprah Winfrey and some of her friends will be cruising through Alaska next month. Forbes reports that the seven-day Holland America cruise "Share the Adventure" departs from Seattle on July 15 on July 15. The 2,104-passenger ship will visit Glacier Bay National Park, Juneau, Sitka and other Alaskan sites.
