Live Streaming

Our most requested service.

1 camera or 8? Check.

Zoom? YouTube? Vimeo? Facebook? … That’s a lot at once, but we could do it! 3 events in parallel from the same conference with multiple language tracks all live to YouTube? We’ve done that.

Including presenter’s PowerPoint, Keynote, or Canva slides; pre-recorded video, graphics, etc.

Anything we produce, we can stream live across one or more platforms, from pretty much anywhere.

TV Broadcasting

The core of our business.

We operate the statewide KTOO 360TV channel across Alaska with over 1000 hours of local production annually, in addition to providing local broadcast TV services in the Juneau area. KTOO 360TV reaches every corner of the state via broadcast, cable, satellite, the ARCS rural broadcast system, and of course online via the web and connected-TV streaming.

In addition to our Gavel Alaska live coverage of Alaska State government, we broadcast events recorded & live throughout the year from across the state. We are the exclusive broadcaster of the First Alaskans Institute’s Elders & Youth and Alaska Federation of Natives conferences, and have been producing live TV coverage of Sealaska Heritage Institute’s Celebration cultural dance festival since its inception in 1982.

Lectures like the Juneau World Affairs council, and conferences such as the Juneau Economic Development Council’s Innovation Summit, and the Sharing Our Knowledge Clan Conference share information and ideas far & wide; while music & arts such as the Áak’w Rock indigenous music festival, the State Finals of the Alaska Poetry Out Loud competition, and the Alaska Folk Festival bring entertainment onto screens and into ears.

Event A/V

We are the local “A team” for producing live events.

The main ballroom of Juneau’s Centennial Hall has 5 fixed projectors, plus a handful of portable ones; and we regularly send video, presentations, and graphics to all of them, sometimes at the same time. And we helped design the system to do it.

Live camera shots, complete with real-time special effects, provide an up close view of the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council’s Wearable Art extravaganza with our IMAG service.

When local companies & Alaska Native corporations go to meet their shareholders in smaller remote communities, we bring the cameras & projectors to enable that personal connection in the room and across the region. Not only do we regularly stream these events, but we can also bring in virtual participants via Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meet, or other platforms into fully integrated seamless events:

Imagine… The first presenter is on stage using our wireless clicker to advance their slides, seeing them on a confidence monitor; the next presenter is remote from Iceland, controlling their slides over the internet; then audience members step up to the mic and ask their question of whomever they want. Everyone can see, everyone can hear, but there’s no echo or feedback, just genuine connection. And our hybrid physical & virtual timer system keeps the meeting on schedule, which not only helps the agenda run smoothly without eating into that critical networking coffee-break, but also means that the presentation recording will fit in a broadcast time slot; because we know why both of those are critical and we helped plan it that way.

Video Recording

Most of our projects involve recording, be it for private archive or worldwide distribution.

When you go into local museums, you will see our work: How to make & use Lingít halibut hooks, or the intricacies of yéil koowú Ravenstail weaving as danced locally for thousands of years; we understand local culture, and how to document it respectfully and in the highest quality.

When scientists trek across glaciers in the Juneau ice field to monitor climate change, our cameras take you there and capture not only the how, but the why. When the Alaska Division of Elections needs to quickly train thousands of election workers in just a few weeks, we make the videos that explain every step of the process so that the resulting workers have the confidence and knowledge to serve their communities with trust.

The majority of KTOO produced events integrate multiple facets into a single turnkey service: We take the time to understand the needs of each and every project, and scale our services to match. Sometimes we are a fly on the wall, other times we spend months planning with our clients to make sure the solution is right for the project. KTOO offers high quality services that our partners and audiences can trust to get the result they expect.

Gear:

Áak’w Rock 2023

Our technology is high quality, efficient, and reliable. We pick and chose the right tools for our productions needs. We use full-size broadcast cameras & equipment, and lights because we care about your final product. We also have gear that is compact enough to fit the entire kit in a float-plane and produce your event from almost anywhere in Alaska.

We can set up in our studios, or we can travel by ferry, jet, small plane, and of course by road where available. Unlike “lower 48” production companies, we don’t have the luxury of drive-up truck access to venues, so we do it the Alaska way. All our field equipment is packed to travel, and with the exception of a few specialized items, it doesn’t even need special or overweight handling.
