Dr. Janice Sheufelt finished the Furnace Creek 508 in 35 hours and 14 minutes. She was the top female finisher, and ninth overall out of 70 solo starters.
JDHS edges East; TMHS knocked out by Homer
The Crimson Bears narrowly beat East Anchorage 7-6, while the Falcons’ season ended with a 46-6 loss to Homer in high school football action over the weekend.
Football season ends; playoffs next
The Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears secured a home playoff game, but came in second as leaders of the Railbelt Football Conference in this weekend’s closing game of the regular season. The Bears beat the Lathrop Malemutes 53 to 8 Friday night in Fairbanks. It was the win they needed to clinch a quarterfinal contest in Juneau.…
