Police report a pair of unrelated deaths on Friday

A Juneau man died after he was hit by a vehicle Friday afternoon. Joseph Patrick Rafferty, 77, was struck by an SUV on Willoughby Avenue about 1 p.m. Friday.

Juneau Police have not issued the 20-year-old unidentified female driver a citation; the accident is still under investigation.

Later that day, an Alaska man was found deceased in the grass near the Brotherhood Bridge. Peter James Wool, 47, was discovered around 3 p.m. Friday. Foul play is not suspected, but the case is still under investigation.
