Slideshow: Kim Estate v. Ray Coxe

This slideshow contains previously unpublished photos from the civil trial in the case filed by the family of Simone Kim against Ray Coxe of Rayco Sales. The Kim family alleged that Coxe was liable for the weapon that was taken from Rayco Sales and used in the murder of Kim in August 2006.

The civil trial ran from June 2 until June 14 in Juneau Superior Court. The jury determined that only convicted murder Jason Coday, not Coxe, was liable for Kim’s murder. The jury later assessed a total of $10 million in damages against Coday for pain and suffering, loss of income, and punitive damages. It is unlikely the Kim family will collect any of that money.
