The Juneau World Affairs Council presents “Refugees on the Border” with Susan Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald has fed hundreds of refugees and housed some herself as a volunteer at El Calvario Refugee Shelter in Las Cruces, New Mexico, 40 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border. She moved to New Mexico in 2006 after retiring from a long career at KTOO in Juneau.
Fitzgerald spoke on May 31, 2019.
