• Why are you running for re-election?

I really enjoy the work that we do on the Assembly, I really liked this Assembly, it’s a very high-functioning group. City administrators are great. And I really feel the impact of the things that we’re doing on the Assembly in the community. So it’s, it’s really great to be a part of that.

  • What are you most proud of from your current term?

I just finished my first term. And during that time, I was chair of Human Resources Committee. And I’m now the chair of the Public Works and Facilities Committee. And I’ve been able to grow my knowledge of the city operations, be able to meet the people that the citizens that helped volunteer to make the city work. And with being on public works, I’m literally learning about like the water and the sewer system and what we do for streets and (that) led to me helping the process for city hall.

  • What do you hope to accomplish in your next term?

I’d really like to see us move the needle on housing. It’s the most important factor in Juneau right now. It’s either going to help in the community grow, help bring new employees here, help bring the new population base that can contribute to the economy, or we’re going to drive people away if we don’t solve the housing issue. So I would say that that’s probably the number one topic that this Assembly will be tackling in the next couple of years.
