- Forecasters expect the glacial lake responsible for producing Juneau’s annual glacial outburst flood to be full this week.
- The Alaska Beacon reports that a small cruise ship operating in Southeast Alaska made an unexpected detour last week to help a 21-foot skiff that ran out of fuel between Petersburg and Juneau.
- A Juneau nonprofit is among the first announced to be awarded grant funding through the Rural Health Transformation Program. Alaska health officials approved spending $4.5 million worth of a $272 million federal allocation toward more than a dozen Alaska health care projects last week.
- After-school childcare is on the agenda for Tuesday night’s school board meeting. The Juneau Board of Education will take a first look at a lease with a local childcare provider to run a program at Sayéik: Gastineau Community School.
- A Juneau fire captain was charged with domestic violence assault in an incident involving his 12-year-old stepdaughter last summer. Brent Clancy was convicted of that crime and will be sentenced on Thursday. He faces up to five years in prison.
- Sen. Lisa Murkowski announced that she’ll vote no on Todd Blanche for U.S. attorney general.
- The Alaska Division of Elections is sending follow-up letters to most of the 3,000 voters it struck from the active voter list this summer.
