Polling places closed around Alaska at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Unofficial results from the Alaska Division of Elections keep Democratic incumbent Andi Story in the lead in the only contested state House race in Juneau.

House District 3 results

With all 10 precincts reporting, Incumbent Andi Story, D-Juneau, maintains her lead with 4,004 votes in the district that represents part of the Mendenhall Valley, Auke Bay, Out the Road, Haines, Skagway, Klukwan and Gustavus. That’s 1870 votes ahead of challenger Annette Kreitzer, a Haines Republican.

Story has been in office since 2019 and is running for a fifth two-year term. The retired social worker previously served on the Juneau School Board for 15 years.

Kreitzer served as Haines Borough’s top administrator until 2024. Prior to that, she had a long tenure working in state government as a legislative staffer and former commissioner for the Department of Administration.

Sara Hannan, D-Juneau, is running uncontested for her fifth term in office. The state lawmaker and former teacher represents constituents in Downtown Juneau, Douglas, Lemon Creek and the Juneau International Airport area.

As of 10:02 p.m., 69% of all precincts in the state have reported results. The division is scheduled to tabulate ranked choice votes on Nov. 18. That’s 15 days after Election Day and is the deadline for absentee ballots to be accounted for.

The division’s target date for certifying election results is Nov. 25.
