Alaska’s statewide general election is on Tuesday. Voters can make their picks for governor, U.S House and Senate, and their local state legislator.
Alaskans have utilized a ranked choice voting system in general elections since 2022. That means voters can rank as many or as few candidates as they want.
The ballot will list the top four candidates in each race for governor, U.S House and U.S Senate.
Juneau is represented by two state House seats. House District 3 includes parts of the Mendenhall Valley, Auke Bay, Out the Road, Gustavus, Haines, Skagway and Klukwan.
Haines Republican Annette Kreitzer is challenging Andi Story, a Democrat who’s been in office since 2019.
House District 4 represents Downtown Juneau, Douglas, Lemon Creek and the Juneau International Airport area. Incumbent Sara Hannan, a Democrat, is running uncontested this year.
The seat filled by Juneau Democrat Sen. Jesse Kiehl is not up for election this year.

Voters can also vote on two ballot measures. If approved, Ballot Measure 2 would get rid of several election laws approved by voters in 2020. That means it would repeal ranked choice voting and open primaries in statewide races, as well as multiple finance disclosure laws.
Ballot Measure 3, if approved, would change language on voter qualifications in the state.
Early and absentee voting has been open since Oct. 19. In Juneau, voters can go to the State Office Building downtown or to the Division of Elections Region One office in the Mendenhall Mall Annex. Both polling places are open Monday until 5 p.m.
On Election Day, 13 polling places will open in Juneau from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Residents can find their polling place on the Division of Elections’ precinct locator. The State Office Building and Juneau Tlingit & Haida Community Council are two new polling locations in Juneau this year.
