Police arrest man wanted in connection with Best Western robbery

A man wanted in connection with Tuesday’s robbery at the Best Western in Juneau has been arrested.

Keith Joseph Nelson Jr., 20, was arrested Wednesday night, according to a Juneau Police Department news release. He was at a business in the 2800 block of Riverside Drive. Staff recognized him and called police.

Nelson had an outstanding arrest warrant for failure to comply with conditions of probation, stemming from two original charges of second-degree burglary.

Tuesday’s Best Western robber was hanging out in the hotel hobby, located at 9300 Glacier Highway, but wasn’t a guest.

Police said that when an employee asked him to leave, he walked behind the counter and stole an undisclosed amount money out of the cash drawer.

No one was injured in the incident and no weapons were used or displayed.
