The City and Borough of Juneau formally accepted $235,000 in donor money from the Juneau Community Foundation, which is leading the fundraising. Efforts are underway to break ground this summer to replace the playground destroyed last year by arson.

Corporate donations from Alaska Airlines, BP Alaska and, most recently, $25,000 from the Cruise Lines International Association Alaska helped reach the target.
