Juneau Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred in North Douglas over the weekend.
“We’re typical. My husband and I,” said aspiring pot entrepreneur June Hall. “And I think the people out here on North Douglas are like us. They’re not scary, lurking individuals.”

Fire Marshal Dan Jager says many Juneau firefighters were at a training exercise when the call came in. “So we could see the huge, dark, black column of smoke from quite a ways out of town,” he said.
A structure fire reported around 7:30 p.m. Thursday near mile 3 of North Douglas Highway shut down traffic in both directions for about an hour and cut power to North Douglas.
