Anyone who believes they are at increased risk for infection is now eligible, the department announced Monday.

Monkeypox is spread during prolonged face-to-face or skin-to-skin contact — it’s not spread exclusively through sexual contact.

The new case involves an adult male who began experiencing symptoms within the last week. Both cases are in Anchorage and neither has required hospitalization.
