Alaska Wildlife Troopers are investigating the death of a black bear found behind the Mendenhall Mall. Investigators suspect the unlawful killing is related to ongoing trash issue in the area.
City Engineering Director Rorie Watt said the site, which is privately owned, could accommodate a park-and-ride for about a dozen cars at first, and later 30 if a pond is filled.
Friday was the last children’s storytime at the old location.
“We are just selling everything, everything that you can think of besides the walls and the floors,” says Blockbuster manager Vanessa Early.
