New Sealaska logging sites near earlier cuts
Sealaska says it will begin logging its new lands later this year. The first two parcels to be cut will be on Prince of Wales Island and the Cleveland Peninsula.
New Sealaska land bills introduced in Congress
Alaska’s congressional delegation today introduced new Sealaska land-selection bills. Both would turn about 70,000 acres of the Tongass National Forest over to Sealaska, the regional Native corporation for Southeast Alaska.
