Bailey Barco led a rescue of five crew members from the wrecked, three-masted schooner Jennie Hall in December 1900. The Coast Guard’s namesake vessel is bigger, can patrol longer than older, Island-class cutters.
Coast Guard to offer public tours of new cutter Thursday and Friday
The Coast Guard is offering public tours in Juneau of its new cutter Bailey Barco. The 154-foot fast-response cutter will be moored near downtown Juneau.
