"Individual Assistance"

The reversal means people who get the city’s housing assistance grant can get the city’s individual assistance grants as well.

Payments begin at $1,000 and scale up to $2,000 based on income. Eligible residents can also get an extra $300 per dependent child. 

Homeowners’ insurance doesn’t usually cover earthquake damage, but standard policies often extend to events that immediately follow an earthquake, like if a water pipe broke and flooded your home.
