Hydro One asked the Juneau Assembly to rescind its petition to intervene over its acquisition of Alaska Electric Light and Power. In return it had offered some general commitments that Assembly members felt didn’t go far enough to protect the community’s interests.
House approves TransCanada buyout
With a unanimous vote in the House Wednesday, the Alaska Legislature has passed Gov. Bill Walker’s bill to end the state’s partnership with TransCanada — and take a larger role in the effort to build a natural gasline from the North Slope.
