At the sentencing hearing of former Bethel police officer Aaron Fedolfi on Tuesday, a debate about race and how it may have influenced his case broke out between the survivor’s family and the defense.
The Bethel Police Department says it’s still working to improve hiring practices, but it’s unclear if two former officers involved in high-profile misconduct cases have had their police certifications removed.
Fedolfi is the former Bethel police officer charged with two misdemeanor counts of attempted sexual assault and official misconduct while serving with the Bethel Police Department.
Authorities have arrested Aaron Fedolfi, the former Bethel Police Officer that was on the run.
The woman “told Fedolfi to stop, and asked if he had ‘done this before’ at which point Fedolfi took his hands off her head,” according to charging documents.
