Alaska Supreme Court Oral Arguments

Doe 2 v. PooleNote: This case will not be broadcast.Jane Doe 2 filed suit in 2004, alleging a priest sexually abused her in the 1970s when she was a teenager. She claims the Catholic Bishop of Northern Alaska failed to properly supervise the priest. The Nome trial court dismissed the complaint as being filed too late. On appeal, Doe claims that she did not know and could not discover her action against the Bishop until shortly after she filed the suit. The Bishop contends the lower court correctly held that Doe should have recognized her claim more than two years before she filed the suit.
