Alaska Supreme Court Oral Arguments

Western States Fire Protection v. Municipality of AnchorageWestern States Fire Protection Company of Alaska installed the sprinkler system in the Dimond High School Auditeria. When the Anchorage Fire Department issued a Notice of Violation because the sprinklers discharge water above suspended acoustic tiles, Western States appealed the Notice to the Building Board of Regulation Examiners and Appeals. The Board ruled the installation satisfied the applicable code, and the Fire Department appealed to the superior court, which reversed the decision. Western States asks the Supreme Court to rule that the Board’s decision was correct.
