New School Board members Josh Keaton and Emil Mackey were the only yes votes on the proposed STEM school.
Local marijuana regs set for public hearing
The proposed ordinance specifies where marijuana can be grown, processed and sold. A moratorium on marijuana businesses expires at the end of the year.
Teachers’ union, school district reach tentative contract agreement
It includes a 2 percent pay increase, though the district won’t say what the budget impact would be.
After pause, Anchorage software boondoggle back on line
The original estimate was that the SAP software would be up and running across municipal departments by 2011 at a cost $10.6 million. To date, the city has spent more than $36.2 million dollars with full implementation now optimistically forecast for early 2017.

Jason Hart and Jeff Redmond lost their bids for Juneau School Board to incumbent Andi Story, and newcomers Josh Keaton and Emil Mackey in Tuesday’s election.
Fisk beats Sanford in race for Juneau mayor
The new mayor was the only change to the Juneau Assembly to come out of the elections. Assemblymen Loren Jones and Jerry Nankervis will both retain their seats for second terms.
Potential valley transit center site identified
City Engineering Director Rorie Watt said the site, which is privately owned, could accommodate a park-and-ride for about a dozen cars at first, and later 30 if a pond is filled.
