A convicted felon living in Juneau has been indicted on a charge of receiving child pornography in 2014.
Assistant U. S. Attorney Jack Schmidt in an announcement says 38-year-old Jim Wayne Thornhill if convicted faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and a potential maximum sentence of 40 years.
Thornhill was arrested in October 2007 and convicted five months later in Ketchikan Superior Court of sexual abuse of a minor.
The FBI investigated the latest case. Prosecutors say he received child pornography in November or December 2014.
Thornhill was indicted Wednesday.
He is in on custody for violating conditions of probation and he remained jailed Thursday at Lemon Creek Correctional Facility in Juneau.
Online court records did not list an attorney for Thornhill.
