Tonight’s Democratic debate will be the first since Bernie Sanders handily defeated Hillary Clinton by a stunning 22-point margin in the New Hampshire primary. Their last outing together, the first in which they debated one-on-one (former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley dropped out of the race after losing badly in Iowa), was the fieriest yet. Clinton and Sanders traded barbs over their records, experience, and who, exactly, is “progressive.”
In tonight’s debate one of the key things to watch will be just how much the candidates attack each other. NPR’s Tamara Keith lists that as one of the four big questions for the night. The debate begins at 9 p.m. ET; watch here for updates.
