Juneau woman arrested for alleged heroin possession

Juneau Police and the FBI arrested a 25-year-old Juneau woman Thursday for allegedly bringing heroin to the Capital City aboard an Alaska Airlines jet.

According to a JPD press release, Jessica Beck was detained at the Juneau Airport Thursday morning after returning from Seattle. A police search found two packages containing approximately 111 grams of a substance that field tested positive for heroin.

The substance will be sent to the Alaska Crime Lab to confirm that it is heroin and determine the exact weight. If confirmed, police say it would have a street value of nearly $110,000 dollars.

Beck is being held at Lemon Creek Correctional Center on no bail. She’s charged with misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 2nd degree, a Class A Felony.

The investigation continues.
