Update, 4:40 p.m.
All lanes of Egan Drive are now open after Juneau Police closed traffic in both directions this afternoon while responding to a fatal accident involving a motorcycle and a car at the Juneau-Douglas Bridge.
Police have yet to release details of the accident, which happened about 1:30 p.m.

Update, 4:15 p.m.
Egan Drive inbound has reopened after Juneau Police closed traffic in both directions this afternoon due to a fatal accident involving a motorcycle and a car at the Juneau-Douglas Bridge.
Vehicles are being allowed to turn left at the bridge to get to Douglas, but outbound traffic is still being rerouted to Glacier Highway. There’s also a significant amount of gridlock.
Police are asking people to please avoid driving in the area if possible.
Update, 3:45 p.m.
Egan Drive is closed in both directions near the Juneau-Douglas Bridge due to a two-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and a car this afternoon.
There appears to be one fatality.
All traffic on Egan is being rerouted to Glacier Highway. Inbound lanes are closed at the Breakwater Inn. Outbound is being redirected at either Glacier Avenue or 10th Street. Currently, the only way to get across the bridge is via 10th street.
Police are asking people to please avoid driving in the area if possible.

Juneau Police have closed Egan Drive in both directions near the Juneau-Douglas Bridge while they investigate a two vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and a black car.
Traffic is closed inbound from the Breakwater to the bridge. Outbound traffic is being rerouted to Glacier Highway. Currently, the only access to the bridge is via 10th Street.
There appears to be one fatality.
