Cecilia Kunz, the matriarch of the Juneau Native Community, died Wednesday just a month before her 94th birthday. Kunz was born in Juneau on August 20th, 1910 and was known throughout Southeast Alaska for her history and knowledge of Tlingit clans. As Rosemarie Alexander reports, Kunz was renowned for her work in Alaska’s civil rights movement and her many contributions to her community.
