Wilderness Living
In this program we visit the community of Hyder, one of three Southeast communities with outside road access. We meet Stan Price, who lives with the bears of Pack Creek on Admiralty Island. A 4-H camping trip to the Beardslee Islands in Glacier Bay is also featured. Scenes along the ferry route from Hyder and of Glacier Bay are included as short transitions.

A family of three have been on a "honeymoon" at Annex Creek. Soapy Smith's life has been dramatized in Skagway. And Coast Guard rescue swimmers jump into action from helicopters.

A Closer Look
In this episode of Rain Country, we take a closer look at some common things around Southeast. The first is a look at some kids and horses; some of the kids are handicapped, the others are 4-H students giving riding lessons. Native Heritage
The Native art of Southeast is viewed in this edition of Rain Country. The first story is a look at the totem pole. Totem pole carver Wayne Price is featured in the second story. Southeast Art
The focus of this program is art in Southeast Alaska. The first feature looks at the prehistoric art on the beach at Wrangell, where early inhabitants made cuttings in stone. Some designs resemble the art of the Northwest coast Indians. Public artwork is the second feature and the program concludes with a look at the Sitka Fine Arts Camp. A quick look at the art of St. Michael's Cathedral is also included.

This program is a potpourri of subjects. The first story is about the salmon research station at the wettest place in Southeast, Little Port Walter. Indian Studies
This episode of Rain Country studies the Native culture of Southeast. We start by focusing on preserving the Tlingit language through the use of computers to translate a spoken language into a written one. The old Wrangell Boarding School was a high school for many Southeast Natives and is remembered by its students. Indian Studies in today's schools concludes this program.

Along The Seas
From our Southeast Seas, there's a way to farm salmon, earn a living and transport wildlife. At Little Port Walter and Hyder, Salmon are being raised in an effort to increase their populations. Andy Spear of Juneau earns his living on a sail boat by providing a charter service. Department of Fish and Game officials working with the Forest Service transport Elk from Oregon to Southeast.
