HB 325 is nearly identical to a citizen’s initiative on track for a statewide vote later this year. But House Majority Leader Alan Austerman – the bill’s primary sponsor – says he’s open to changes. Lawmakers can preempt the ballot measure by adopting substantially similar legislation.
