Membership Problems:
Let us know right away if we've made a mistake regarding your membership: a misspelled
name, wrong address, duplicate mailing or billing error. It helps speed up the process if
you send us the mailing label. If it's a billing error, include a copy of your statement
and an explanation of the problem. Or, call and give your name, address and membership
number as it appears on your label. We'll take care of the problem as soon as we hear from
you! To Top
Our Mailing List:
Please be assured that we do not sell or exchange its mailing list. We do, however,
purchase mailing lists from other sources in a continuing effort to bring in new members.
Sometimes duplications do slip through, so please forgive us if this happens to you, and
disregard any further solicitation notices. To Top
Thank You Gifts:
The membership office mails all thank you gifts. Please note: you must pay half of your
pledge before any gift will be mailed! Occasionally we will run out of a
particular item. In most cases we will re-order it, but this does cause a delay.
Sometimes, a re-order is not possible, so we will contact you to see if a substitute gift
can be arranged.
Please remember that the gift is just one of the ways we thank you
for your support. Programs are what your dollars really buy. It is our policy not to sell
current gifts because such sales decrease the value of the gifts to our members. For more
information, give us a call! To Top
Tax Deductions:
If you itemize on your federal tax returns, your membership pledge or other donation to
KTOO is tax deductible to the full extent of the tax code. IRS regulations now require
that we acknowledge, in writing, most gifts to us, and that we send you a statement
which shows your donation minus the fair market value of any gifts we send you. In most
cases, this is far more than we actually pay for the gift, but the regulations require
that we calculate the "fair market" value. We send this information directly to
you -- we are not required to report contributions to the IRS. To Top
Voting Rights:
Some of the most important privileges of membership are your right to attend board
meetings, to vote for board members and to run for the board yourself. Voting also extends
to changes in the articles of incorporation. Members are invited to attend the annual
meeting in October and to voice their opinions on any aspects of the corporation's
business.
Voting members of CCBI must be at least 16 years of age; have paid
membership dues, and receive our broadcast signals. You must be a
voting member for 90 days prior to a membership meeting in order to vote at that meeting.
Each member is entitled to one vote. No voting by proxy is permitted at membership
meetings. However, proxies may be used to establish a quorum.
Dues are part of your membership payment. Minimum dues which
establish membership are $15 per year or $10 per year for students and seniors.

Our stations have active volunteer programs. We rely on volunteers in everyday
operations and for special events and projects. Our faithful volunteers make a big
difference in what we're able to accomplish, and by volunteering you can get an inside
look at the world of radio and television. We offer volunteer training in many aspects of
radio and television. If you're interested in lending some time and skills to your public
stations, give us a call. Check out the latest edition of the Volunteer Newsletter
for an idea of what our volunteers are up to. To Top
Studio Tours:
We are always pleased when members and local groups come by for a tour of the studios. To
book a tour, please call our main telephone number during business hours, and we'll be
glad to set it up. To Top
Staff Visits and Speakers:
If your group or classroom would like to learn more about any aspects of public
broadcasting, we would be pleased to put together a presentation for you. From such topics
as "The Future of Public Broadcasting in Alaska" to "How to Make Better
Home Videos," there's somebody on our staff who can enliven the discussion. Take a
look at Who's Who at KTOO for some
ideas, or just give us a call. To

Copies of Programs:
While we cannot provide copies of most network radio or television programs (since we don't own the
rights), we do have copies of many of our local radio and television programs available
for a small charge. The KTOO Video Catalog
lists many of KTOO-TV's programs. To
