North Pole woman found dead after Fairbanks-area fire

Alaska State Troopers say a 43-year-old North Pole woman has been found dead following a fire in the Fairbanks area.

Troopers say they were notified late Thursday night by the Steese Volunteer Fire Department about a Tungsten Trail structure fire. Troopers say the body of a woman tentatively identified as Robyn Evans was found after responders could enter the home.

Troopers say the fire marshal’s office is investigating. They say an autopsy will be conducted by the state medical examiner’s office to determine positive identification and cause of death.
