Troopers say 1 dead, 1 injured in Glenn Highway crash

SUTTON — Alaska State Troopers are investigating a crash on the Glenn Highway that left one man dead and another seriously injured.

Dustin Lakey, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at milepost 63 in Sutton, Troopers said. Gene Boyda, 45, was seriously injured and was transported to a local hospital.

Lakey was heading north in a pickup and Boyda was southbound in a pickup when the two trucks collided head-on in the centerline.

Lakey was not wearing a seat belt, Troopers said.

His body was sent to the state medical examiner’s office.

No home towns were given for either man.
