Two Aniak residents charged in A.C. Store burglary, $30,000 stolen

Two Aniak residents have been charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief, among other counts, after a break-in at the community’s A.C. Store on Wednesday, Sept. 7.

Philip Simeon, 29, and Juliana Peterson, 20, allegedly forced entry into the Aniak store at 4 a.m. Wednesday morning.

More than $30,000 in cash and checks was taken.

Alaska State Troopers discovered cash and checks at Simeon’s home, after investigation.

Both Simeon and Peterson were arrested and arraigned in court on five counts and were held on bail with a court approved third-party custodian.

Aniak State Troopers still are looking for further details as they continue their investigation.
