A Juneau man was rescued from Mount Juneau after sliding 200 feet down the mountain Friday.
Tim Haugh, 57, lost his balance while crossing a section of the trail covered in snow Friday morning. After he came to a stop, Haugh called 911 from his cellphone. Alaska State Troopers say Good Samaritans on the mountain also stopped to help.
Capital City Fire/Rescue and Juneau Mountain Rescue responded to the scene with the help of commercial helicopter company. Haugh was taken to the hospital; his injuries were not life-threatening.
