Juneau man arrested after assault, robbery

A Juneau man is in custody after he allegedly entered an apartment, assaulted a man over a period of several hours, and then stole his property.

Joshua Lehauli, 28, is being charged with first-degree robbery and assault.

Juneau Police say the incident happened on Monday in the Hospital Drive area when Lehauli and another man, who was not unidentified, entered the apartment. Lehauli allegedly hit a 37-year-old apartment resident with a baseball bat and held him at gunpoint.

The victim suffered injuries to his face, arm and leg. Also in the apartment was another man identified only as being 29 years old. Police didn’t specify whether he was injured.

Police say they arrested Lehauli on Wednesday at a residence on Riverside Drive on unrelated charges of misconduct involving a controlled substance. He had his first appearance in court on Thursday.
