Quake shakes Southeast coast

Southeast Alaska residents may have felt an earthquake after lunch on Wednesday.

The Alaska Earthquake Center says the quake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.4 struck about 1:16 p.m. Alaska time.

It was located about 90 miles west of Juneau and about 115 miles northwest of Sitka at a depth of 13 miles.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries, although at least one Juneau resident reported through Twitter that they felt the earthquake.
