Juneau man arrested for alleged possession, distribution of child porn

Scott R. Parker, 40, was arrested by Juneau Police officers Tuesday morning. He’s currently being held at Lemon Creek Correctional Center after an initial court hearing on Wednesday. Bail was initially set at $50,000.

Parker was indicted by a Juneau grand jury last Friday on 39 counts of possessing child pornography and one count of distributing child pornography.

Prosecutors say he works as a mortician’s assistant and as a massage therapist, but it is still undetermined whether he manufactured any of the images that allegedly were in his possession.

The indictment alleges that the violations occurred between Jan. 1 and April 10, 2014.

Juneau Police say the Anchorage Cybercrimes Unit initiated the case in April and then forwarded the case onto a Juneau detective.
