Wrangell doctor Greg Salard is no longer employed by Alaska Island Community Services.

In a statement on the clinic’s website, Executive Director Mark Walker wrote, “We are working diligently to help those patients who have been affected to re-establish a primary care provider as we move forward.”

Salard is facing two federal felony charges for possession and distribution of child pornography. He is being held at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center in Juneau awaiting a jury trial in January.

Salard was one of four medical providers employed by AICS in Wrangell. AICS and Wrangell Medical Center suspended Salard’s medical privileges when he was arrested at his home Oct. 15.

Salard surrendered his Alaska medical license last week.
