Winter troll fishery begins this week

The winter troll fishery opens on Thursday, Oct. 11.

The fishery targets Alaska wild Chinook salmon and Chinook that are from hatcheries.

The fishery will continue through April 30 or until a total of 45,000 wild Chinook are caught plus the number of Alaska hatchery-produced Chinook is harvested.

According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, fishermen are required to submit their fish tickets within seven days of landing.

The coordinates for the winter troll fishery remain unchanged. Here is a link to those detailed coordinates.
