Air compressor topples, kills 2-year-old
Alaska State Troopers say a 2-year-old North Pole girl died when a piece of machinery toppled over in a garage and struck her.
Troopers say Dehlia Shakoske on Thursday night was in the family garage playing while her father, James Shakoske, was working nearby.
An investigator says the girl climbed on a 22-gallon air compressor or pulled its handle. The machine, which weighs about 75 pounds, fell and struck her on the chest.
Emergency responders from the North Pole Fire Department responded rushed the girl to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.
Troopers say she died at the hospital.
