Pedestrian injured after accident with truck

Juneau Police say they’re still investigating a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the Mendenhall Valley over the weekend.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Mendenhall Loop Road and Back Loop Road about 7 o’clock on Saturday evening.

A 25-year old man reportedly tried to cross Mendenhall Loop when he was hit by a Dodge Dakota pick-up truck driven by another 25-year old man. Neither of the men were identified by name.

The pedestrian was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Traffic was diverted for more than an hour as officers investigated the scene.
