Valley Breeze-In fire put out by employees

Firefighters were called out to the Valley Breeze-In on Sunday morning for a fire that started outside of the rear of the building.

Assistant Chief Ed Quinto said they arrived after 3 o’clock to find remnants of a small blaze next to the loading dock area. He said that Breeze-In employees had found a fire on the empty boxes that were stored outside their building, and they used fire extinguishers to put it out.

Quinto said that Capital City Fire and Rescue crews went through the building and opened up the area that was over the fire to check for any fire extension.

Damage was confined to the outside of the building and estimated at $5000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
