The Alaska Legislature will have its own task force to tackle issues regarding drones.

HCR6, was approved by lawmakers in the final hours of its 2013 session.

The resolution sponsored by Palmer Republican Rep. Shelley Hughes’ resolution sets up a 15-person task force that will provide recommendations and suggest legislation to oversee the use of unmanned aircraft systems in the state.

The task force will be required to submit an initial report to the legislature by Jan. 15 and a final report a year later.
